Hi I really like the curtain rods that you did for your client.
When I tried to get the items for the marble run pieces I couldn’t find the correct pieces
Do you have an itemized list of names and sizes of the connector pieces?

  2. Story deadline is looming for Daytona Beach News-Journal Home Show stories. Please email me to set up a time for a phone interview tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday a.m. LATEST with either John or Whitney. I’ve been trying all week to set this up. Thanks.

  3. Hi Johnny!

This is Steve with Vetrazzo sustainable surfaces, made from recycled glass and cement. You left a comment on our Instagram post of our new mosaic tile line saying we should talk. I’d love to chat when you have a chance, give me a call on my cell anytime at 551.208.1624. Thanks Johnny, looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!

    Hi Whitney!

Couple of quick questions. Was your table varnished?? And we’re you able to pain right over it or did you have to sand it? Also – did you distress the paint after? You waxed both the tables and chairs?

    Thanks much! Mary-Ann

    • Hi Mary-Ann! My table was painted before I painted it. I just painted right over it. I didn’t distress the paint on this set, but I did apply the clear wax, then the dark wax to the table and chairs. I hope it helps! :)

Hello, I thought you’d like to know that you mispelled the word “dalmation” on your website. I’ve had similar mistakes on my site that keep cropping up so I now use a site like to keep them off. -Scott

Just read about your new business. Perhaps your 2nd location will be in Evansville, IN!!

Just wanted to say how much I loved your appearance on flipping the block. My oldest daughter, Kayla, played soccer with your sister Becky. I remember you as a little tyke playing on the side if the field. Becky also gave Kayla’s girls swim lessons this summer. Watching you and john on the show was fun. My vote for the winner went to you!

    • Thanks so much Karen! It’s been amazing to have everyone back home in Indiana supporting us throughout the show! The experience was life changing, and it was a tough loss, but yes, we are following our hearts and pursuing our passion in design! 27 South Design Group is growing like a weed! We will be speaking at the Evansville Home and Patio show in the Spring, so you never know what the future could bring!! :)

Hello! I loved your style on “Flipping the Block”. I know you wanted to win to help start a design company here in Jax. I was wondering, even though you didn’t win, if you were still planning on doing that. We are living in an apartment right now, but plan on buying a house in the next 8-10 months. Probably something that needs a Lillie work and updating. Just wondering if you will be up and running for something like this?

    • Hi Summer!! Thanks so much for kind words! Yes, even though we didn’t win, we aren’t letting that stop us from following our passion! 27 South Design Group opened its doors in April. You can check out our website at and business is growing like a weed! We would love to help you when you buy a house! Keep us in mind! :)

Hey guys, loved you on Flipping the Block and loved your finished condo. Was hoping you would win. I know it was an awesome experience. I hope you have some projects in Jax that will look just as amazing when finished. I have a question for John, but not about construction. What brand of glasses do you wear and where did you buy them?
Hope to see more of you two on TV,
    Thanks for your reply,

    • Thanks Rob! We appreciate you cheering us on! We have launched our design business here in Jax ( and it’s doing great!! You aren’t the first to ask about John’s glasses– they are Lucky and we bought them from Eyeglass world a couple years ago. Hope it helps!! :)

For some reason your site is condensed into a small size. There is a pale blue decorative background behind it.

Hi…hate to bother you but just wondering why your email always duplicates in my inbox? Daily, I receive 2 emails from you, posted at the exact same time. It is something on my end or yours? Not really a problem, but it doesn’t happen with any other blog that I subscribe to. Thanks!

    • Hi Lisa! You’re not bothering me…I’m so sorry that’s happening! I have asked a couple other subscribers and they only receive it once, so I’m thinking it may be on your end. Perhaps try unsubscribing then resubscribing again?! I hope that helps! I will google it and see if I can find out anything else. :)
