Oh Hey, it’s the Master Bath Reveal!!!

We’re baaacckkkkk!!  Did you guys think we disappeared from the blog-o-sphere forever?  If so, you are mistaken.  ;)

We have been away from the blog for a little while, working on a very special project!  I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it….soon!  :)

As for the blog, where were we before our little break?  Oh yes, the master bath.  Well people, it’s DONE!!  This renovation has been our biggest DIY project on our home thus far, and we are delighted it’s finished!

Are you ready?!

We are so in love with this space now.   The walk-in shower with the stone accent tile feels so luxurious.  It’s been a long time coming, but this bath desperately needed a makeover.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane for a second–

When we moved in, the master bath looked like this:

It was fine from a distance, but then we noticed cracks in the grout (in more than one place):

So we demo’d the tile, only to find water damage behind the walls.  :(  Then we demo’d everything else….

Forget the tub...someone has nice legs! ;)

We replaced the water damaged wood, and then we began to rebuild it all back again.   Backerboard comes first…

Followed by a heavy duty water-proof sealer.  It smelled awful, but at least it was pretty lookin’!…

Then came the fun part, where it really started to feel like the light at the end of the tunnel was in sight…TILE!  We layed the floor tile first, and then the shower…

After 24 hours, we grouted all the tile.  We added the new sink and vanity top, and our vanity got a little makeover, which I’ll show you in a separate post.  After a new toilet and some accessories, we can officially call this one complete!!

Now it’s so fresh and so clean-clean, and every time I walk in here I smile a little. :)

It’s good to be back, friends!   Happy Hump Day!!
