Hey ya’ll!! I hope you have all been doing wonderful!! Fall is in full spring and I am loving the weather. :)
I previously showed you the latest in our dining room– I went with white!
Well, I’m back to share the latest progress in here, and also show you how we created a designer look on a slim budget. It’s not quite done yet, but we LOVE where this room is headed. Even though we were thrilled with the gray color scheme we had before, this is so much more us.
While some people may find white to be boring or plain, we think it’s the perfect neutral canvas to make a space look uber bright. Using white as a backdrop also gives us the freedom to go as crazy as we want mixing metals and bright colors with art and furniture.
So now the deets on our new table and chairs. We wanted a farmhouse style table, without lending too much to the country feel. I found this one online from Plow & Hearth (see picture below) for $1300 for the 6′ version, but that price tag was way out of our budget.
So we opted for our friend Craig and his list to help us out, and guess what?! $100 later and we have a table that is almost identical to our inspiration photo. We purchased it from a couple who bought it at Pier One, then got it home and the wife decided she wanted an 8 seater. So we snagged it from them for only 100 beans. Score!
The chairs are from Overstock at $188 for the set of 4. (Originally $220, but I had a 10% off coupon and a $10 store credit). I freakin’ LOVE them!!
We also bought these amazing state canvas art prints on Groupon for $40 each. Michael Tompsett is the artist and you can find more of his work by googling him. I love that the states represent our lives, being that we’re from Indiana and Florida is our current home. It doesn’t hurt that the colors are so bold either.
We saved almost $1000 by purchasing this table second-hand. I’d say that’s a big fat A+.
What do you think of our new dining space? Diggin’ it? Or not your style? We want to know! What did you buy second-hand that saved you some major pennies?
I should note– we weren’t compensated in any way for the aforementioned shout-outs. We just like to share our thoughts when we come across great products.
