I see the light with Barn Light Electric!

You may or may not have heard about the Barn Light Electric Giveaway, which I found out about from Kelly and Lyndsay.  It’s a fun little contest, where Barn Light Electric Co. gives away gift certificates to use on new lighting for your home.

Our old 60′s rancher has some updated lighting, but some of our light fixtures seriously need help.  Like major help.  So let’s get started, shall we?

Two of our bedrooms have ceiling fans that are uber gross.   Gross light #1 enjoys long walks on the beach and swing dancing.  That’s right…swing dancing.  The whole fixture literally swings a good 2″ back and forth when it’s turned on, and creates a worrysome noise.  A noise similar to that of a ceiling fan about to come crashing to the floor.  But we’ve been telling ourselves it’s just showing us its sweet moves.  

In this room, I think the Inlet Ceiling Fan would be a much better fit.  It mounts flush to the ceiling, which is definitely important because our old home doesn’t have the highest of ceilings.

Meet gross fan #2.  Gross fan #2 has dreams of fitting in.   It feels like such an outcast in my shabby dressing room.  I almost feel bad for it…

…I mean, it really tries with its fancy curly light bulbs and all, but the poor thing just doesn’t have any friends.  It’s actually so horrendous that I wouldn’t mind not having a fan in here, so I think this vintage Ivanhoe Porcelain Pendant would give my dressing room a nice twist….

Our kitchen has so much potential, but is pretty dark because there are no windows, so some new lighting could really help brighten this space up…

Above the sink I think the Raindrop 1-Light Chandelier would be perfect.  I’m picturing 3 of them hanging in a row, at slightly different heights.  Wouldn’t they look cool?

And for the main ceiling light…

…I’m really diggin’ the Barn Light Warehouse Pendant for this spot.

It’s so simple, but so fabulous. It would be perfect in the kitchen.

And our current dining room light is too boring for me….

….See?  Kinda blah.  Ok, super blah.   The Holophane Pendant comes in several sizes, and I can definitely see a big one of these looking mighty fine here.

We’ve been so busy updating furniture and painting stuff that we’ve sort of put the lighting situation on the back burner.  It would be amazing to be able to update our home with these goodies!!

An email from the entrant including their blog link must be sent to marketing@barnlightelectric.comin order to become an official entry. You are allowed ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. Duplicate entries will be discarded. Entries are open from 06/04/2012 at 12:00 am EST to 07/02/2012 at 11:59 pm PST. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. Normal time, toll, connection and usage rates, if any, charged by your Internet service provider will apply. All entries become the property of the Barn Light Electric Company. By submitting your entry, you will be agreeing that your email and any other information collected in connection with the Giveaway may be used by Barn Light Electric Company in accordance with Barn Light Electric Company’s Privacy Policy and may be shared with Barn Light Electric Company’s affiliated business entities. WINNERS: After the entry period, two winners will be chosen at random. One (1) $1,000.00 or one (1) $500.00 (USD) Barn Light Electric Gift Certificate will be awarded to each winner. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting the entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered. The Giveaway will be conducted under the supervision of Barn Light Electric Company. The decisions of Barn Light Electric Company are final and binding in all matters relating to this Giveaway. The two winners will be notified by email to the email address provided in the entry. Upon notification and prize acceptance, one (1) $1,000.00 and one (1) $500.00 winner will receive an electronic gift certificate redeemable only at barnlightelectric.com.
