…or is it grey? I can never figure out which gray means what…if you know, please tell so I can feel like I’m up on my design lingo. Or at least spell like I am :)
As promised, I’ve got some progress to share with you on my dining room table and chairs makeover. First off, I love the Annie Sloan Paris Grey color. It’s seriously the perfect color for this set. I usually don’t seem to get that lucky. But I’m really feelin’ this one.
Here’s what the chairs looked like when we bought them:
And here’s the Paris Grey in the dining room (just the paint, no wax yet):
And here it is in the front room. We’re not sure where we’re going to put it yet. We change our minds every other day.
I’ve got all six chairs painted. Now I’ve got to put both the clear and dark waxes on, then distress everything and finally recover my seat cushions. I’m probably not going to go as dark with the wax as I did on my shabby mirror makeover.
And as for the fabric we chose for the cushions, here’s a little sneak peek:
I’m pumped about it! Thanks to a tip from Erin, I didn’t get a cotton fabric, but instead I found this one and I love it! I looked at it and just knew. I don’t know too much about fabric other than, “Oh I like that one” or “That one is ugly,” but this is a well-made. I can just tell It’s made out of 55% Linen and 45% Rayon. If you know anything about these feel free to share!
JoAnn’s was having a sale on Waverly fabrics for 50% off, so I got 2 yards totaling $50. Definitely not cheap, but it’s better than the non-sale price of $100. So I’ll take it. After all, it’s less than $10 a chair and that seems decent.
Thoughts on the paint? The fabric? Have you guys ever seen something and just knew it was perfect? Or do you take awhile to decide for sure what you want?
p.s….We got another quote on our dining room half wall demo (aka knee wall…hey there’s some DIY language I learned this week), annnndddd the guy was insane. $2500 insane. Ummmm no.
p.s. again… Our new neighbors just moved in and are doing a ton of remodeling, which means they’re throwing away a bunch of materials. They were so nice as to offer us some tile so John has been working on a sweet little project. Can’t wait to share soon!
p.s. again and again…. Holy crap Saturday is already our one year housiversary! Check out the project gallery to see all the things we’ve done to our little rancher!
