…More Dining Table Progress

My plan was to paint the table Monday night, but my plan got squashed.  Go eat Mexican food or paint the table?  That’s a no-brainer.  Oh and let’s not forget the premiere of The Bachelorette.  Which by the way, I’m not impressed with the selection of men this season.  There are a few that seem alright though.  So yeah, the table was put on hold.

Last night we were painting machines though.  We got the table finished with the Annie Sloan paint (well, just the paint part…not the wax yet).

And I’ve got three of the chairs polished with the clear wax.  Below you can see the difference the wax makes.  It brings out all the brush strokes and makes the paint appear a little darker.  I haven’t even done any distressing yet.

And below is one of the chairs that I haven’t waxed yet.  Big difference!

I am loving them so far!  This project is pretty slow moving, but I just want to make sure I’m doing a thorough job.

We also cut our extra seat padding for the chairs.  We really have no clue what the best material is to make a chair cushion all nice and squishy.  But at JoAnn’s they have this padding stuff….and we figured it would work, so we bought some and traced the cushions.

We cut two “pads” for each cushion, totaling 12 extra chair pads.  Hopefully that’ll soften things up :)

Above, you can see the effect a double layer of padding will have.  It’s coming together.  Slowly but surely!

If you missed my first dining table progress post, go here to check out the fabric we chose and to see what the set looked like before we slapped some paint on it!  Did anybody else watch The Bachelorette??  Please tell me I’m not the only one!

Whether or not you have a blog, feel free to leave a comment!! We want to hear from you!

I have not watched any of the bachelor/bachelorette shows…I did however watch America’s Got Talent, which I don’t usually watch, but Howard Stern did make it entertaining!
