Repurposing Those Pretty Beans

Remember when I painted beans for a pretty holiday candle setting?!

Now that the holidays are over, I considered boxing them up with the rest of my Christmas decorations, but I just didn’t want to do that.  And I didn’t want to throw them away without at least trying to use them for something else.

So then I did what I always do when I’m feeling creative….start walking around the house looking at everything.  When I got to my girly room, it dawned on me that the beans just had to go in there because the vibe is shabby chic glam.  The metallic beans would be a perfect compliment to the silver candlesticks I painted!

I popped them in a cute glass square vase that I saved from a bouquet of flowers and then added my makeup brushes for a polished look.

I’m loving it!  It adds a little more sophistication and glam to my vanity.  I also did some organizing in my top vanity drawer for the rest of my makeup.  I couldn’t stand to see my old ugly makeup bag sit on my vanity any longer.  It was simply an eyesore.  I stopped in Walmart and grabbed a desk organizer for $2 and then popped my makeup in the tray.  I’m not sure why I didn’t do this before because it looks so much better now!  I’m not crazy about the black; I would’ve preferred white, but black was the only option so it’ll do.  And no one sees it but me anyway.

I also wanted to display the wedding bouquet my sister made me as a keepsake to remember that special day.  When we moved in, I temporarily set in on my vanity and never did anything with it, until now!  I previously (see pic below) laid the bouquet paired with a frame of us.

I dug out some of my old clear beads I had stored in the closet.  I call them the “Mancala-looking pieces” because I don’t know their real name!  That game was pretty cool back in the day.  Anyway, I also had a sweet little vase sitting in the cabinet so I put the three of them together and it looks so much better!

My girly room is coming along nicely!  It’s the one room that is all mine, so I’m thankful John didn’t mind a little pink.  “But just in this room” haha!  You can catch the initial transformation here.  And the vanity chair project here.  I hope you all are having a great week!
